Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada was born on December 28, 1973, into the family of the late Alhaji Olatunji Raheem Bada and Chief Mrs. Afolakemi Bada (JP). From an early age, she was nurtured with values of service, resilience, and determination, which would later define her path in public life.
She began her education at Moslem Primary School, Odogbolu, and continued to Odogbolu Grammar School before completing her secondary education at Ajao Estate High School, Anthony Village, Lagos. Her academic journey was marked by a hunger for knowledge. She earned a Diploma in Marketing from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Planning from Lagos State University (LASU), and later advanced into the field of Social Works, obtaining both a Postgraduate Diploma (2012/2013) and a Master’s degree (2017/2018). She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Administration at LASU, a testament to her belief that leadership thrives on continuous learning.
In September 2025, she further distinguished herself by earning the prestigious designation of Professional Manager and Chartered Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM), underscoring her commitment to professionalism, leadership excellence, and continuous self-development.
Her professional career began briefly at the Town Planning Office in Kosofe Local Government, after which she pursued her passion for hospitality at Gateway Catering Institute. With entrepreneurial vision, she established Predema Catering and Boutique Services, a venture that highlighted her excellence in catering, hospitality, and management.
Her passion for politics came alive when she joined the Alliance for Democracy (AD), which later transformed into the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and eventually the All Progressives Congress (APC). Through loyalty and consistency, she rose within the ranks. She served as Vice Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA up until 2014, where her dedication earned her widespread respect. During the 2015 General Elections, she played a strategic role as Director of Mobilization for the APC Campaign Team in Lagos State. In 2017, she was once again nominated as Vice Chairman, reaffirming her relevance and trust within the party.
Her political journey took a historic turn in 2020 when she assumed the mantle of leadership as Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA. The experience provided her with the platform to demonstrate her capability in steering the affairs of the council at the highest level.
In 2021, she stood before her people for the very first time as a candidate for Chairman, and the resounding mandate she received at the polls marked the beginning of a new chapter. Her election was not just a victory, but a powerful endorsement of her vision, compassion, and proven track record. Since then, her leadership has been characterized by grassroots development, infrastructural renewal, and people-centered governance.
Her political journey reached yet another landmark in July 2025, when the people of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA once again renewed their trust in her leadership. In a fiercely contested election, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada emerged victorious, securing her second consecutive term as Executive Chairman. The victory was not just a routine win—it was a loud and clear declaration of the overwhelming love, confidence, and faith the people have in her vision and capacity to lead.
Immediately after her swearing-in, her influence resonated far beyond Ikosi-Isheri. Among the 57 Executive Chairmen in Lagos State, her peers in the Conference 57 elected her as the Vice Chairman for the Lagos East Senatorial District. This was more than a political elevation—it was a resounding endorsement of her stature, credibility, and the respect she commands across the leadership circle of Lagos State. Her re-election and immediate elevation stand as a double triumph: one delivered at the grassroots by the people she serves, and the other bestowed by her colleagues who recognize her as a leader among leaders.
Beyond politics, Princess Bada is a humanitarian at heart. Through her Foundation for Improved Livelihood, she has supported the less privileged, empowered women, and touched lives across different communities.
Her leadership and humanitarian efforts have earned her numerous prestigious and meritorious awards and recognitions over the years, both locally and nationally. A few of these awards include the Rootswatch National Award 2024 for the Most Distinguished Local Government Chairman in Nigeria (Infrastructural Development and Social Welfare), the Special Achievement Award by City People (2021), the Pillar of Support for Humanitarian Services Award (2023), and the Award of Excellence from the Rotary Club of Magodo Central (2021), among many others.
She has been honored with traditional titles such as the YEYESEWA of Ilara Kingdom (by Oba Dr. Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, TELADE IV), the OLUOMO of Kosofe Land (by HRM Oba Samuel Alamu Kehinde Onikosi Edun Arobadi I), and the YEYEOGE of Ijanikin (by HRH Oba Dr. Momodu Afolabi Ashafa).
Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada’s life story is one of steady growth, resilience, and achievement. From her beginnings in education and business to her rise in politics and governance, she has remained consistent in her service to humanity. Today, she is not only the pride of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA but also a strong voice for women in leadership, a symbol of people-centered governance, and a true achiever in Lagos State and beyond.
